Layover in Geneva

Our Swiss flight allows us an 8 hour layover in Geneva.  We change dollars for Euro, as the Swiss gladly accept these, and head into France for our planned nap in a hotel there. After storing some REM sleep, we venture by cab into Geneva.  We find an outdoor cafe with a view of the Jet d'Eau and enjoy some refreshments. A peace rally is unfolding before us, as we stroll along the lakefront.  After exploring downtown Geneva, seeing the UN headquarters and Wilson center, we head back to the airport to await our last flight to Barcelona. My husband Dan and I enjoy expensive small coffees at the gate. My picky son selects and ham and cheese sandwich and eats only the 3 pieces of ham and 1 piece of cheese, when the other cheese slice (Gruyere, yum, a version of Swiss I tell him) hits the floor and the bread is discarded.
